Preservative and Semi-Transparent Wood Finish in One
Cabot Preservative Wood Finish penetrates deep into wood to provide long lasting protection. This Semi-Transparent stain is fortified with wood preservative to kill and resist mildew, mold and fungus growth. Durable and water repellent it is excellent for all exterior applications such as; decks, siding, fences, trim and especially rough-sawn siding. Recommended for exterior above grade application only.
On smooth surfaces, approximately 450-650 square feet per gallon; on rough surfaces, 200-300 square feet per gallon. These rates will vary depending upon the porosity of the surface.
Where to Use
For use on decks, siding and fences. Do not apply over previously painted or sealed surfaces, metal, masonry or adjacent to fresh stucco. Do not thin this product. Not intended for interior surfaces. For exterior above grade use only.
Preparing Your Surfaces
Be sure surface is free of all dirt, mildew stains and loose wood fibers. Surfaces must be sound and absolutely dry (moisture content below 15%). Finish must be able to penetrate wood surface. Prepare unpainted weathered wood with Cabot Problem-SolverÂ® Wood Cleaner or Wood Brightener. Previously stained surfaces must be stripped with Cabot Wood Strippers.
Shake before and stir thoroughly during use. Intermix all containers of the same color. Apply with a natural bristle brush or professional spray equipment. When spraying, always back-brush immediately to ensure uniformity. Start at one edge and follow through to a logical break. One coat is recommended. Spray Application: Recommended tip sizes and adjustments for spray application are 0.013''- 0.015'' at 1000-1500 PSI with a fan width of 8-10 inches; one gun. Cleanup and Disposal
Clean brushes and equipment with mineral spirits. Dispose of empty cans or unused portion in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Do not reuse container.Close container when not in use. Soak oily rags, lambswool, steel wool, cloths or any other material in water after use to avoid spontaneous combustion. Danger: Rags, steel wood or waste soaked with this product may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Immediately after each use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a sealed, water-filled metal container.
